Very sophisticated white freshwater pearls in the shape of the famous Biwa Pearls. Biwa comes from the word Biwako Lake where they were cultured since 1946. Unfortunately the very heavy pollution of Biwa Lake stopped the production of these pearls more than 20 years ago and since only those pearls are allowed to carry the name Biwa which are cultured in this lake, one can say that today there are no Biwa Pearl existing anymore.
