It is said that these blue eyed beads protect from the evil eye. This tradition is widespread in the eastern Mediterranean area. In Greece you can often find blue frames around the windows and in Malta the fisher boats have two eyes painted on their bow. The blue evil eye beads can especially be found in Turkey where they are offered each and everywhere. Unfortunately they are made of plastic very often and we are happy to offer these beautiful lampwork glass beads in our shop.
